INSTALL TIPS
  • Injection-molded Thermoplastic Vulcanizate synthetic rubber is soft, durable and highly UV-resistant
  • Thick one-piece molded end design for durability
  • Tall inner flange protects your hands from discomfort against throttle and hand controls
  • Safety wire grooves on grip ends for added security
  • Aftermarket throttle tube required to install Biltwell grips on stock H-D hand controls—see our Whiskey Throttle

Counterintuitive though it might seem, aerosol WD-40 spray lubricant is our chemical of choice for installing Biltwell molded TPV grips. "But it's oil!" you say. Yes, but WD-40's combination of aerosol propellant and organic-based lubricant is perfect for sliding tight grips onto clean metal tubes. A quick 1- or 2-second blast into the open end of the grip is all it takes. Once installed, WD-40's chemical compound melts the grip interior just enough to make it stick to the bar like glue, without the mess. IMPORTANT: Wait 24 hours after installation before riding to give grips sufficient time to set up on the bars. Immediately after installation you can add safety wire wraps to both ends of the grips; this old motocross trick works great to reduce grip slip on the bars and throttle tube.

These grips are very nice. Following the install instructions on my 1975 CB750F went without a hitch. They are now fused to the handlebar/throttle tube. I like how the larger-than-stock diameter makes twisting the throttle somewhat easier. I also like how firm these are - compared to a more foam-like grip.

They said that it can’t be used with a stock Harley throttle assembly? But this was false! It worked perfectly on my sportster just cut the old ones off slide these puppies on looks tight af.

Grips are super. Like the colors available. Great value for the price as well. Craftsmanship is flawless, and the rubber compound is best...not too rubbery, not too hard and plasticky either. Easy to keep clean. Biltwell is best!

I personally like a larger diameter grip. They have a nice feel and last a fair amount of time. They get better with age and are priced right.

Feel oily. Cleaned multiple times and still oily. Hoping that it’s just left over from manufacturing or shipping and it wears off.

These are my favorite grips. I run them in all of my bikes. The profile fits my hands well, reducing fatigue. The pattern is grippy even when wet.

Perfect fit for a 2000 BMW K1200RS. Also I wear XXL gloves, and I appreciate the larger barrel diameter

A request to Biltwell for BMW buyers: offer a kit with two grips the same size, 1” inside diameter. I had to buy two kits and take one grip from each because BMW has the same size on both sides.

Now I have two leftover 7/8” diameter grips, so it looks like my grandson will have the best BMX bike grips ever lol.

Easy to install and feel great. My hands no longer fall asleep after just a few minutes of riding.

I put these on all of my bikes. Nine bikes. I can’t say enough about them. Cheap and comfortable.

My go to grips for my big hands! I am now using these groups on the two bikes I ride the most they’re perfect for someone with big hands. Love them!

I've put two sets now on my Yamaha Zuma (changed colors) and both of my Coleman BT200xs have them as well. Definitely necessary on a hardtail mini bike like the Colemans, they vibrate a ton and the stock grips leave your hands numb after a few mins of riding.

As with my other Biltwell products these are high quality and look great!

Absolutely love these grips. Great product for a good price. Reminds me of my BMX days as a kid.

Awesome as always. Loke this better than the Kung Fu due to the seemingly more cushioned center of grip. Holds up for miles and miles and doesn’t get tacky in heat.

I bought these grips for my 2018 Kawasaki Vulcan S, because the stock OEM grips were too small in diameter, leading to cramping on long rides. These grips do indeed have a larger diameter, and are more or less 'barrel-shaped', which puts the largest diameter near the center of the grip.Installation was, as expected, a bit difficult, but I had the advantage of having watched a number of YouTube videos showing how to do it... I consumed lots of WD-40 in the process.Since these are generic grips intended for application on a wide variety of bikes, they're not a 'perfect' fit. The grips are shorter than the OEM ones, and I was forced to cut off the closed end to accommodate the stock Kawasaki end caps... which leaves a modest gap between the end of the grip, and the end caps. I don't particularly mind that, though. The surface of the grips are an aggressive diamond pattern, which is a bit too sharp for my taste... but won't be a problem when wearing gloves.

I love how easily you can swap these out after they've worn. Comfortable and a cool look for very little money. Great buy.
