Once you’ve committed to using a Crazy Frank’s style of fender on a bike, all the norms are cast aside and virtually anything goes. This is what attracted our GM, Mike Ellis, to set out on his mission to put together the Snowflake. Without having to follow any period correct standards, he was able to incorporate solid brakes, modern rubber, decent lighting and suspension which would allow him to gobble up the miles without flinching.
After acquiring a basket case, he enlisted the help of his friend Rico @ HiBond Modified to help sort the motor and trans. Once that stuff came back, he worked on rebuilding the majority of the rear fender, adding the sissy bar, molding the tank, fabbed the seat pan and built a custom 2-into1 exhaust using our pipe kit and a cone engineering muffler. Rob Rouser helped with dialing in the driveline, electricals and some of the final assembly. It’s been a solid runner and has taught Mike plenty about the importance of timing and getting a solid starting procedure on a kick only bike.
