I paid $300 for my '61 Kombi in '84. I got a call from the police once saying that it had been found, wrecked and stripped, but not burned. When I went to pick it up I told 'em "Man, it always looks like that, it's not wrecked!" These die cast models cost almost as much but sure are cleaner. I'd add a couple drops of oil under one if I had it on display. Courtesy of Old Bug.
