GENERAL INFO
Who?
We founded Biltwell in 2006, the same year we put on the first El Diablo Run in Baja California, Mexico. Our goal was to build and ride custom bikes and have fun with other likeminded motorcycle enthusiasts. Twenty years later, we’re still doing the same stuff and still loving it! When our Co-Founder, Bill Bryant moved to the Olympic Peninsula in 2023 in pursuit of small town living with easy access to mountains and the coast, he quickly discovered that the area is also home to some great on- and off-road motorcycle riding. Especially in August when it’s generally pretty dry.
What?
The “Motofest” will be modeled after our Kernville Kampout, a super-fun weekend we’ve been doing in the Southern Sierras in California for over a decade. The entry fee covers camping for Friday and Saturday nights, plus free bike show entry, entry into the games, live music and a goodie bag when you check in. Camping is festival style, you just pick a spot and stake your claim. We will allow RV’s, trucks, etc but there will be an extra fee for those vehicles.
When?
August 7th and 8th. You can roll in around noon on Friday the 7th and leave on Sunday the 9th before noon. This is generally a very dry part of the year here in the Rain Shadow on the Olympic Peninsula. Of course there is a chance we’ll get some rain but this is the PNW, if you don’t do stuff in the rain, you don’t do stuff. Sunset is around 8:45PM and average temps are lower 70’s in the day and low 50’s at night.
Where?
Port Angeles, WA; Where the Mountains Meet the Sea, as the town slogan goes. PA is a charming, but gritty jewel on the peninsula and has plenty of stuff to do, all the resources you could need and some of the nicest people you’ll ever find. It’s about 230 miles from Portland and there are several routes you can take that are more scenic than the obvious straight shot that Google will send you on. If you take the ferry from Seattle, it’s about a 83 mile ride and kinda fun to park your bike on a boat if you’ve never done it. Don’t want that hassle? Riding around the Puget Sound is a good alternative and is still under 150 miles. For our BC friends, there is a ferry direct from Victoria, BC to Port Angeles. If you consider the Warf at the end of Lincoln Street the center of town, our event site is five miles away.
Getting There:
It’s only about 80 miles from Seattle if you take the Bainbridge ferry. Don’t want that hassle? Riding around the Puget Sound is a good alternative and is still under 150 miles. For our BC friends, there is a ferry direct from Victoria, BC to Port Angeles and it’s five miles from there to the event location. We are about 230-ish miles from Portland and there are multiple routes so you can easily go home a different way to keep it interesting.

FAQ
Not this year. We aren’t sure there will be enough of a show to make it day passes worth it. If there is demand for this, we will figure it out for the next one, but we need to keep it simple for year one. Just like the Kernville Kampout, of course you can buy a pass for the whole weekend but choose to stay in town at a hotel of AirBNB if you are a baller.
No. Tickets need to be purchased in advance so we know how many riders to be ready for.
We are all VIPs, so no special area. The earlier you get there, the better chance you have of getting a primo spot in the trees.
Great question and good idea! Our generous hosts at the Extreme Sports Park has agreed to let riders camp before or after the event for $35 per person per night. We’ll add her contact info as we get closer to the event date.
We love pets but they complicate things. If you just have to bring yours, please be responsible and keep the mutt on a leash and clean up after them.
Nope. This is a 21 and over event because there will be alcohol and the usual motorcycle enthusiast antics. It won’t be safe or appropriate for kids and we kindly ask that you leave the youngun’s at home.
This is a work in progress, but yes, we will have at least one food vendor on site and will definitely have cold beer for sale. Yes, you can also bring your own outside food and drink!
There will be portable toilets on site and they will be cleaned regularly. This site does not have showers, so you get to be a dirty biker for the weekend.
Most likely we will be in a “burn ban” status due to dry weather, but we should be able to have propane pits, use BBQ’s, etc.
You might get wet. Plan accordingly. Generally it is really dry this time of year but you never know. No rain checks, delays or do-overs.
Well, it’s a very loose race. We are planning on building a small TT-style track so a few turns with a small table top jump. There will only be two classes: Not Serious and Kinda Serious. If you wanna ride a mini bike or your 60 year old chopper, you are in the Not Serious class. If you trailer a built 450 or real hooligan bike, you’ll be in the Kinda Serious class. Sign ups will be at the bar, see schedule. There will be trophies but no prize money.
Our buds from Crimewave 66 are going to make the trip all the way from Arizona for Saturday night’s set. Featuring Matt Freeman from Rancid, Rob Malucky of Die Huns and of course one of our favorite humans ever–Chris Huber, this band is going to bring the energy. Straight ahead rock n roll with some cowpunk and bluegrass mixed in – this isn’t your typical .38 Special cover band and you have been warned. Friday night is TBD. Any recommendations for local bands, hit us up: events@biltwellinc.com
We’ll have a sign up sheet in the bar area. It’ll be super informal but you do need to sign up before the games start so we can be organized about it.
Our buddy Bob out in Forks run a super neat Cycle Camp and his annual Rainforest Run is the weekend after Motofest, so sticking around riding all week and then hitting Bob’s event might be a good plan. Get more info here: https://www.rainforestrun.com/
A few of our friends like Loside and Whiteknuckler will be vending and we are looking for others who want to set up. Please email us if you are interested: events@biltwellinc.com
Sure! Get with Otto at events@biltwellinc.com and we can get you set up.
