The Parts and Labor Motorcycle Podcast

McGoo and I started a tiny advertising agency in the mid-’90s focused on action sports—BMX, skate, snowboard, MTB. We helped build other brands until Biltwell was ready to ditch its wobbly training wheels around 2011. So, marketing is deep in our DNA. We’ve watched media evolve from wildly expensive magazine ads to digital to social.

We launched Chop Cult way back in 2009. Forums were thriving then, but the platform was a massive time suck for those of us who ran it. As Biltwell demanded more focus, selling CC around 2012 was an easy call. Social media has since eclipsed forums; aside from digging up old tech tips, most message boards are digital graveyards these days.

I’m a natural Luddite, but I see the value in new tools and try to embrace them. Podcasts have long been part of my daily routine—equal parts education and entertainment.

Last year, we launched our own podcast to deliver long-form content to our customers in a format that was fun and efficient. One of the best parts of the custom motorcycle world is the people: wingnuts, weirdos, and self-made disruptors doing things their own way. They’re inspiring and deserve a spotlight.
