The powerful magnets inside EXFIL-9’s attachment flaps are covered with soft textile fabric to minimize damage to paint, but any piece of luggage you attach to your gas tank can and probably will scuff, scratch, or discolor the painted surfaces over time. These magnets can also adversely affect electronic devices inside the bag. Storing your smart phone in the clear top panel is the best way to avoid this potential problem. When attaching the bag to your metal gas tank, clean the mounting surface carefully to make sure small abrasive particles aren’t sandwiched between the paint and the attachment flaps. Never leave a tank bag on your bike when it’s unattended. Prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause the black textile materials to fade over time. To extend your bag’s appearance and service life, store it away from UV light. To remove the bag, carefully pull upward at each corner—DO NOT drag the bag across the paint. To clean your bag, use mild soapy water and a soft cloth, then open it up to air dry. NEVER throw the bag in a washer or dryer.
