Just did my first ride on the freeway with my new Gringo S... one word... freaking amazing!! (ok that's two words)... after riding with an ICON Variant and almost breaking my neck during cross winds, my new gringo is nothing short of awesome... Light and very comfortable. the shield snap takes a couple of tries to get used to it, but once you master it, it's all good, the gap between the shield and the actual shell helps with air flow, quieter than what I expected, only drawback, at least for me is switching out shields, since I ride during the day and night, but I just figured out a way to make it faster... After decades of open face helmets, my Gringo S (red primer) is my first ever full face brain bucket. Purchased after my June 6th, 2015 MC crash on I-15, just a mile north of Hemet, CA. I have about 2K miles on it now. Two weeks ago I did a 1,400 mile, 5-day solo unsupported ride/camp into the Colorado Rockies. I nailed 5 high altitude dirt passes on my dirt sled Triumph with my Gringo S. My longest days were the en route to the mountains, approx. 430 each direction. Riding straight through this helmet was perfect in every way, ventilation, comfort and aerodynamics. The designers of this helmet nailed it!
I absolutely love this helmet. Lightweight for a full face without all the extras. The fit was absolutely perfect on my head and very comfortable. The primer color and finish are flawless. Took a ride from central to south TX (70-75mph) and there was no fatigue, great aerodynamics. Overall, I will buy another if I lost this one!
I've been holding off getting a full face for a long time since I enjoy my bonanza so much, but hey this stuff is dangerous and it's probably a good idea. It's also nice for when it rains. The full face does not restrict my view downwards nearly as much as I anticipated, and the flip/locking shield is awesome.
