Before I write my review, I have to give a lot of props to Biltwell as a company. I purchased this helmet in a small as a gift. After I gave it to the person, they told me they wore a medium. Biltwell customer service was so helpful with the exchange and it was incredible! This is the second Biltwell helmet I've purchased, and the quality is unrivaled. I've worn a lot of helmets over the years, but Biltwell are by far the most comfortable. This is a fantastic helmet.
Comfortable fit, good air flow, little to no fog while riding in the rain. Had a gnarly wipeout a few weeks ago, helmet held up great!
Love this helmet... Great look and very comfortable!!!
I've been enjoying Biltwell gear for a few years now. Just great products. I enjoy the Gringo helmets - I have both a Gringo and Gringo S. I do think, however, that being based in CA, the design doesn't take into consideration the potential hazard of colder climates and the lack of airflow to keep the moisture from fogging up the shield when going through a tunnel or stopped at a light. It's dangerous if you're wearing a Gringo because you can't just flip the lid up and it's not much safer with the S because it still fogs up quickly in colder temps going through a tunnel or stopped at a light and you have to flip it up to air it out. If the sun is bright the radiant light will blind you with all the condensation on your shield. Something to consider, Biltwell. All in all it's a great helmet but I think the vintage aesthetics cannot outweigh the potential hazard of a design drawback in lack of airflow; probably best used in moderate climates.
Really nice helmet- lots of comfy padding inside, flexibility to slide shield up when you need some air (Gringo shield can't be opened while riding), and very stylish as well. Two thumbs up!
This helmet is smaller in size and doesn't make me feel like I have a giant crystal ball on my head. I like the white, because it looks good and for safety reasons, hopefully drivers will see me better at night. For long rides, I no longer have dirt in my mouth when I'm done and I can wear my glasses specially at night.
