Design: The Sporty-8 seat is a leaner and cleaner version of the stock one-up seat H-D introduced on the Forty-Eight XL a couple years ago. The Sporty-8 is for guys who want the super low-profile and one-up styling of a solo seat, with none of the junky springs and nose hinges that such a custom set-up normally requires.
Fitment: This seat is a direct bolt-on for 2010 – 2016 Sportster models.
Construction: Vacuum-formed ABS plastic pan with molded polyurethane foam padding. Hand-sewn heavy-duty black vinyl cover with polyester thread. Plated steel mounting brackets.
Note: Our seat covers are extremely water resistant, but the seams are not. If left outside in the rain, these seats can soak up water. This is especially true of the Diamond or Tuck n’ Roll designs since they have more stitched seams. If you expect rain or snow, cover the seat to keep your saddle dry.
I threw this seat on my bike yesterday, and took a solid 2 hour ride on my iron 883. The sporty 8 was so much more comfortable than i expected, and if i had foward pegs it would have been even better! It sits super low on the frame, and you feel super solid and comfortable, BUT with the mid controls, my legs got a little crampy, but once i put fowards on i see no problem with it! The leg issue isnt a fault of the seat. Thats a fault of my set up, but i figured id mention it for the other iron riders thinking of buying it, i dont think ill be putting anything but a sporty 8 seat kn this thing! I love it! Looks great, and feels even better
I was trying to find a seat that would keep me from not sliding around but look as basic as possible like the stock seat without having to go the spring seat route cause that's just not my stlye. I promise anyone thinking about getting this seat that it is well worth it. I ride a 48 sportster and this is a must for a seat for around town. If you're a 48 or 72 owner and love the look of your seat but want something more comfortable, this is for you!
So I bought this seat, not really sure what to expect. The low price had me a little worried at first, but I've bought Biltwell products before and loved them, so I gave it a shot. This seat as exceeded my every expectation!!! First of all, it looks badass on the Forty Eight! This is the seat the MoCo should have put on in the first place! Break in was relatively quick. My first ride with it was 140 miles and I don't have a single complaint. As the other reviews state, its narrower than stock and much more comfortable on the inner thighs. It has a bit of a lip on the back, so when I'm ripping down the street I actually feel glued to the bike. Install on my '14 took all of 30 seconds. 5 stars isn't a high enough rating. This will seriously be the best 175 bucks you will spend!
I got this seat in place of the asphalt hard harley seat and it exceeded my expectations. It's comfortable and adds a hard bobber look to the sporty. I would highly recommend this seat to anyone. Great job and kudos to Biltwell and thanks for the stickers!
This seat rocks. I have an '04 and moved my ICU to the battery box in order to fit the Harley version of this seat. While I liked the looks of the Harley seat, as everyone says, its hard as a brick. It's also a bit wider in the front making it very uncomfortable on the inner thighs. There's little to no rise in the back making easy to slip off. THIS SEAT SOLVES ALL OF THOSE ISSUES. Its comfortable, looks great and is well made. Cant say enough about Biltwell. Keep it up!
